Blochin Cuius, CO-Founder of MVMANT and Business Development Manager at Edisonweb, received this 22 June 2016 the Heidelberg Innovation Forum 2016 Innovation Award for the Edisonweb developed MVMANT app. This year focus for the Heidelberg Innovation Forum was "IT meets Mobility" addressing both electro mobility and mobility strategies for and within enterprises, including Infrastructures, logistics, e-mobility concepts, security and navigation.
MVMANT is a new urban, real-time and on-demand mobility platform and application developed through the EU financed project “Social Commuting eXperience Platform”, which received funding under the EU FP7 frontierCities Accelerator Programme, aiming at promoting the uptake of FIWARE technologies among SMEs and Start-ups.
MVMANT platform enables a new type of shared transport that delivers an ideal synthesis of buses and taxis services. Its fleet of cars runs along fixed routes, in order to offer users the speed and coverage comparable to that of taxis. The MVMANT app also allows users to book and pay for a place in a vehicle via their smartphones, while showing the estimated waiting time.
The first pilot of MVMANT took place in Ragusa (Italy) in May 2016 and involved 2200 subscribers who took advantage of four customized vehicles provided by Mercedes-Benz Vans, which have run over 13.000 kms in 22 days.
